4 of the Best Face Powders for Dry Skin.Face powders can be a struggle for those of you with dry skin. It can be impossible to keep your makeup on all day if you’re not setting it with a powder.
Yet the majority of face powders out there for dry skin tend to cling to dry patches and emphasise dehydrated skin making it look cakey. Or just seem to disappear off your skin an hour after applying.
So for those of you out there who are struggling to find the right powder for your dry skin, I’ve chosen some of the best out there that won’t emphasise dryness and won’t make your skin look flat and mask-like.
MAC Studio Waterweight Pressed Powder €35.00
You’re essentially getting two powders with this one. On the top of this compact from MAC, you have a pressed coloured powder which adds coverage and mattifies your skin without looking dry. On the bottom, you have a powder more akin to the Mineralised Skin Finish: a sheer, glowy, finely-milled powder to add some luminosity to your face. You can add the two powders to different areas of your face, or use the two powders together.
Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Powder €42.00
This powder is a cult favourite for a reason. The micro-fine powder blends seamlessly onto the skin without looking dry or cakey. The only downside is that there is not a good shade range, but if you happen to find a shade that works for you, it’s well worth the money.
RMS Beauty Tinted Un-Powder €34.00
Typically, loose powders can look cakey easily on dry skin or add too much coverage. But this one from RMS Beauty is special. Because it’s so finely-milled, it’s almost creamy to the touch, it’s sets everything in place, adds a hint of coverage while blurring out imperfections. It won’t add a huge amount of glow to your face, but it does provide a beautiful canvas to add further products on top off. It’s also free from parabens, talc, fragrance and silicone.
L.A Girl PRO.powder HD Setting Powder €5.75
If you want a loose banana powder with a yellow undertone to brighten up your under-eye, then this is the powder for you. It can be a little chunky, but if you tip some into the cap, work it into your brush and make sure to tap off the excess, it works like a dream. It blurs and mattifies without feeling dry and tight. The packaging is a bit of a let down. The lid is a little flimsy and the holes in the plastic insert are a bit big with no stopper so this is not a good product for travel. But a great option for those of you on a budget.
